Rudder stock and blade some kind of good mahogany, so it had no rot, and was refurbished and improved 2009. uphaul fitted for parking, downhaul semi-locks in a friction slipping cleat so you dont beat out pintles or snap something if you run shallow! Autopilot handle custom designed and fitted out of the way astern.

blade angled slightly forward and feathered edges reduced weather helm and fixed the popping up at speed (6 knots) issue.

The tiller is single piece of the finest mahogany, lovingly sanded, stained and varnished. socket insertion, and i also have a spare/emergency tiller every boat is supposed to carry.

 

Pintles are of course s/s, and on a mahogany block with bolts if needed

rudder can be lifted off pintles with one hand using uphaul, safely.
