saving money by drying out to do work below the waterline - here i changed prop on the smelly Stanpit mud and gravel. there is some sand
further away from this shore, which i dried out on in the Spring, to antifoul. only the top 6 inches were soft, but for this job, it was safer to stand on the gravel which is firm if smelling like sewage.

Pros and Cons?
I was strongly advised if I was going to have a boat in Christchurch to have a lifting keel yacht, not a bilge keel - since they get stuck
fast if grounded in the mud. but there is a down-side; how are you supposed to sleep or make a cup of tea when the tide is right out, at this angle!!
