Just a collection of interesting views about the harbour

speedboats - waste of time, built this up in 2003, found out why Mudeford was so called!(overheating from silt, bashed up prop on shallows etc)

saving money by drying out to do work below the waterline - here i changed prop on the smelly Stanpit mud and gravel. there is some sand further away from this shore, which i dried out on in the Spring, to antifoul. only the top 6 inches were soft, but for this job, it was safer to stand on the gravel which is firm if smelling like sewage.

Pros and Cons?

I was strongly advised if I was going to have a boat in Christchurch to have a lifting keel yacht, not a bilge keel - since they get stuck fast if grounded in the mud. but there is a down-side; how are you supposed to sleep or make a cup of tea when the tide is right out, at this angle!!

what do you get when my yacht runs out of water - 30 degrees!(on mud berth in Stanpit February 2004)
